Transportation, short-term financial assistance, housing, and assistance with VA claims are some of the most pressing needs that Veterans have. AWP empowers local communities by connecting Veterans, caregivers, and families to appropriate resources, services, and partners when they need it most and before a crisis occurs. They also provide care navigation, a personalized support service designed to help Veterans find and access the care and resources they need from within the community and VA resources.

The Laramie County Community Partnership’s Behavioral Health Action Team (BHAT) brings together community partners across Laramie County and Wyoming to strengthen coordination and improve behavioral health and suicide prevention efforts for Veterans, Service Members, and their families. Through Safeguard Veterans, BHAT is building on its existing partnerships to strengthen connections to care, improve referral pathways, and help ensure Veterans and their families can access the right support when and where they need it.

While many know and love the Cheyenne Farmers Market®, fewer realize that it is hosted by Community Action of Laramie County and serves as the organization’s largest annual fundraiser. Every dollar spent at the market not only supports local growers, artisans, and small business owners — it also helps fund CALC programs that serve individuals, families, veterans, and seniors throughout Laramie County. Through case management services and access to healthcare at Crossroads Healthcare Clinic, Community Action helps neighbors work toward stability and long-term self-sufficiency.
